Who they are
UBTECH Robotics Corp Ltd started in March 2012 in Shenzhen, China. Its head office sits in the Nanshan district, and it runs a factory in the Bao’an district. The company has been listed on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange since 29 December 2023, under stock code 9880.
It is a public company, so its numbers are checkable. For 2025 it reported sales of about 2,001 million yuan, up 53.3 percent on the year before. It also reported a loss of about 790 million yuan, smaller than the year before. The company is growing fast and still losing money.
What they build
The best known machines are the Walker humanoids. These are full-size two-legged robots with two arms and hands. The Walker S, S1 and S2 are made for factories. The company says they handle boxes, sort parts and check quality on car assembly lines.
For the Walker S2 the company gives these figures: 52 joints, a 15 kilogram lifting load, a waist that turns 162 degrees each way, and a reach from the floor up to 1.8 metres. It can swap its own battery in about three minutes, so it can keep working around the clock. UBTECH calls this the world’s first humanoid robot that swaps its own battery. That is the company’s claim, not a checked fact. Height and weight are not given on the product page, and outside listings disagree, so this entry leaves them out.
UBTECH builds much more than humanoids. There are wheeled service robots (Cruzr), a delivery robot for buildings (CADEBOT), and warehouse machines under the Wali name, including lifting robots, tow robots and forklifts. For schools it sells small robots such as Yanshee, UGOT and the uKit kits. For homes it sells robot vacuum cleaners, pool cleaners, lawn mowers and pet gear under its own brands.
What they are known for
Two things. First, mass displays: 540 small Alpha robots danced on China’s Spring Festival Gala television show in 2016, which the company says set a Guinness World Record. Its robots also appeared at the Beijing Winter Olympic Games opening ceremony in 2022.
Second, factory humanoids that actually ship. In its 2025 results the company reported selling 1,079 full-size humanoid robots in that year, against a handful the year before. It said yearly building capacity passed 6,000 units by the end of 2025. In the same year it shipped 12,759 smaller humanoid robots and nearly 3,000 warehouse robots. These are the company’s own audited-period figures.
UBTECH says it held 3,112 granted patents as of June 2026. It also says it leads the world in valid humanoid robot patents and in humanoid sales. Those ranking claims come from the company itself.
How they sell
Humanoid and warehouse robots are sold business to business. The product pages have no price and no shopping cart, only a contact form and sales email addresses. Buyers so far are car plants, logistics firms, universities and large companies, mostly in China but also abroad. Partners in Europe and Southeast Asia resell and service the machines.
The home products are different. Vacuum cleaners, pool robots, mowers and pet devices go through normal shops and online marketplaces, under the brands AIRROBO, UBHOME and UBPet. Education robots are sold to schools and to city programmes.
What is not known: UBTECH does not publish a price for any Walker humanoid. Resale sites quote widely different figures, so no price is given here. There is also no sign that a private person can buy a full-size humanoid.
