KC certification

KC stands for Korea Certification. It is South Korea’s approval mark for products that plug in, charge up or send radio signals. Without it, a product cannot be sold there legally.

For robots, the radio part matters a lot. A robot that talks to its app over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth has to use the frequencies and signal strengths that Korea allows.

Chinese robot maker UBTech says it had to change its robots’ communication parts and radio settings to pass. Most countries run a similar approval system, so check that any robot you import is approved where you live.
