Who they are
Roborock is the brand of Beijing Roborock Technology Co., Ltd. The company says it was founded in July 2014 by Richard Chang, who still runs it as chief executive. Its head office is in Beijing, with offices in Shanghai, Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
Xiaomi invested in the company two months after it started. Roborock’s first product, sold in 2016, carried the Xiaomi name. The company listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange STAR Market under the code 688169 in February 2020.
Roborock says its team passed 2,050 people and that it had sold more than 20 million units worldwide by December 2024. Those are the company’s own figures. Other business databases give different staff counts, so treat the number as a rough guide.
What they build
The main product is the robot vacuum. These are flat, round machines that drive around a home, suck up dust and wipe the floor with a mop pad. Most come with a dock that empties the dust, washes the mop and refills the water tank.
The current families are Saros, Qrevo and Q. The Saros Z70 is the headline model. It has a folding arm with five joints, called OmniGrip, that picks up small items such as socks before cleaning. Roborock calls it the first mass-produced robot vacuum with such an arm.
Beyond vacuums, the company sells upright wet and dry floor washers (F25 range), cordless stick vacuums (H60 range) and washer-dryer machines (Zeo range). In September 2025 it showed its first robot lawn mowers, the RockMow and RockNeo lines. Mowers have since gone on sale in the United States, including a model that uses a laser scanner to map the garden.
At the Consumer Electronics Show in January 2026 the company showed the Saros Rover. It has two legs with wheels on the ends, so it can climb stairs and clean each step. Roborock states plainly that it is still in development and has no confirmed launch date. Do not expect to buy one.
What they are known for
Roborock is known for putting new hardware tricks into robot vacuums before most rivals: lifting mops, cameras that dodge obstacles, chassis that climb over door thresholds, and now the gripper arm.
The company says market researcher IDC ranks it first in the world for smart cleaning robots by market share. That ranking comes from a paid research firm and Roborock is quoting it, so read it as a company claim backed by a third party. Phrases such as “world’s first” come from Roborock’s own press releases.
Reviewers generally place the brand at the premium end. The machines are not cheap, and the arm-equipped and leg-equipped models are the most expensive ideas in the range.
How they sell
Roborock sells straight to the public. It runs its own online stores for many countries, and also sells through Amazon and large chains such as Target in the United States. Every robot is controlled by the Roborock phone app.
The company does not publish one global price list. Prices differ by country and change often with discounts, so check the store for your region. Spare parts, brushes, filters and mop pads are sold on the same sites.
Repair and warranty terms are handled by the regional store or retailer. Roborock does not publish a single worldwide warranty period on its global homepage.
